You will play a crucial role in stimulating and realizing careful internal communication. Working closely with the executive team you are responsible for a high-quality, consistent & appealing internal communication policy for the BauWatch Group. You ensure that all employees in the different countries are informed, motivated and feel connected to each other and to BauWatch .


In general you are responsible for:

  • Establish an internal communications strategy in conjunction with the senior management team
  • Ensure organizational initiatives and projects are successfully communicated to employees and stakeholders
  • Plan, edit and write content for a variety of internal communications, including the intranet, regular email bulletins and town halls
  • Create and deliver updates to the whole organization on behalf of the executive team
  • Work closely with the CPO and their team in delivering communication regarding eNPS and organizational updates and initiatives
  • Create and manage the internal communications calendar, comprising management offsites, events, social gatherings and initiatives, ensuring effective planning through internal and external resource
  • Work closely with the executive team to create a consistent company look and feel for employees at all locations
  • Prepare messages and/or scripts from members of the executive team for presentation to employees in written or spoken form
  • Ensure internal communication is fully in line and consistent with external communication
  • Act as a single point of contact for feedback and questions from staff before, during and after town halls and intranet posts, coordinating responses in an open way
  • Handle the internal communication response to potential crisis situations which affect organizational perception and reputation (how to respond to external requests)
  • Develop materials and training to educate staff (on communication practices, and assist other departments in onboarding programs or training)
  • Own the roadmap for further development of the Intranet
  • Optional: lead/support Culture, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion initiatives.

We ask quite a lot of our new Internal Communication Officer, but that doesn't scare you off. On the contrary, you take the lead and get to work. It will be hard work and that will give you energy. You don't wait but take initiative and arrange it. But perhaps the most important thing is that you have an infectious energy that gets things done and people move.


We also think you need the following:

  • A completed and relevant education, for example in the direction of media, communication or journalism or in possession of recent NIMA Communication diplomas
  • You have excellent writing and communication skills, able to create simple but effective messaging that can be understood by all employees, regardless of location and culture
  • You have a creative mindset and can deliver messaging which is seen as interesting and valuable to our organization
  • You are a strong organizer and are able to programme/project manage activities and contributors
  • You are a skilled speaker, can present to staff and engage them in important topics
  • You are in touch with all levels of the organization and can quickly identify topics that will engage and motivate various levels of seniority and different functions.

Where are you going to work?

BauWatch has become a household name for every party that wants to temporarily secure an outdoor location, initially in the Netherlands and now also in other European countries (Germany, Belgium, France, Spain, Italy, Austria and the UK).

You will be based in the Netherlands.
